A few months ago I donated Hymenoptera from Baltic amber - Encyrtidae to Professor Serguei A. Simutnik to Ukraine, Kiev. The I.I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Encyrtidae is a large family of parasitic wasps. Some 20 species in 18 extinct genera of Encyrtidae have been described from late Eocene (~35 Ma) Baltic, Danish, and Rovno ambers.
One of them was named after me, as †Electrocerus fallaszeki sp. nov., using my surname Fallaszek with the standard Latin suffix -i.
Robert Fallaszek was born in Bydgoszcz – Fordon.
This honor came thanks to Professor S.A. Simutnik from Ukraine.
